7 September 2019 – Bloemfontein Ladies were the biggest winners in the second round of the newly launched SAFA Women’s National League, after beating Durban Ladies 6-0 in their match to secure their second three points of the league.
An on form Celtics dominated the match and impressed the crowds with their excellent display of football and skill.
The University of Johannesburg’s Soweto Campus is where all the action took place.
The opening match of the day saw Mpumalanga’s Coal City Wizard share the spoils with Limpopo’s First Touch Academy 2-2 in a very tight match, while Gauteng based TUT came back from behind to beat Thunderbirds of the Eastern Cape 5-2.
The University of the Western Cape will open Sunday’s proceedings, when they take on Golden Ladies from North West at 10 am.
Free State’s Tsunami Ladies will then play Richmond Ladies from Northern Cape at 12h30 before the the tantalizing fixture between University of Johannesburg and Mameldoi Sundowns at 15h00.
