6 August 2019 – With a number of clubs having to let go of some of their key players for the national team for the ongoing COSAFA Women’s Championship, it is still business as usual in the Gauteng Sasol League.
The title race has had an interesting twist of late with Croesus eventually catching up with the runaway title chasers, TUKS.
Both sides are now tied on 47 points with neither looking to drop any points in this weekend’s matches. TUKS still occupy the number one spot with a much better goal difference.
The Tshwane side also have a two-game advantage which they will be hoping to convert to maximum points and widen the gap. Croesus however have been in a rich vein of form of late and are as equally determined to qualify for next season’s SAFA Women’s League.
Not to be written off from the race is JVW who are third on the table and very much within their chances of making history. The Bedfordview based club has played less games this season with five matches separating them and second placed Croesus.
However, their next opponent will be the inform Croesus who are desperate to narrow the gap between themselves and log leaders, Tuks.
