31 July 2019 – Midfieder Refiloe Jane was besides herself with joy after leading Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana to a record 17-0 win over Comoros in their first match of the 2019 COSAFA Women’s Championship currently underway in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape.

Jane, who wore the armband in the absence of captain Janine van Wyk who was on the bench, scored four goals and walked away with the Player of the Match award.

She says they managed to dominate the Islanders because they did not want to underestimate them.

Banyana Banyana scored three goals more than they did in 2014 in the first meeting of the two nations.
