31 July 2019 – The CHAN team upped the second leg preparations against Lesotho with an intense practice match against Jomo Cosmos at Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday, 31 July 2019 with coach David Notoane once again placing more emphasis on goal-scoring.

The CHAN team responded by walloping a full strength Cosmos side 3-0, something that left Notoane and his assistant Kwanele Kopo smiling from ear to ear.

The CHAN team lost 3-2 in the first leg to Lesotho in Maseru last Sunday, but Notoane has always expressed confidence that this side will turn the tie around.

And Notoane said by tomorrow, he will have all names of the players he needs to beef up his young squad. Some of those he has called up include Mamelodi Sundowns duo of Keletso Makgalwa and Thabang Sibanyoni. Notoane has also called up unattached veteran midfielder Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane to guide the squad mostly made up of uncapped youngsters. He said he will see during the week if he will utilise the experience of Yeye or use him to guide the youngsters outside the playing field.

The squad showed an appetite for goals and in most instances ran the Cosmos side ragged under hot Soweto conditions.

The team will continue with its training schedule on Thursday with two tough training sessions – one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

The team will start adjusting to Sunday’s match by holding an afternoon training session at 15h00 at the match venue on Friday before winding up the preparations with Saturday’s afternoon session.
