30 July 2019 – She has played at the highest level in football – the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

She has also played at a Women’s AFCON as well as the Student Games recently, but Banyana Banyana forward Amanda Mthandi has never taken part in the COSAFA Women’s Championship and is looking forward to the event.

Mthandi is part of the squad of 20 players selected by head coach for the tournament – Banyana Banyana are the defending champions.

They have lifted two previous trophies and will be hoping for a third one this year.

South Africa takes on Comoros in their first match on Wednesday, 31 July at Wolfson Stadium.

Kickoff is at 15h30.
