30 July 2019 – Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana wasted no time in preparing for the 2019 COSAFA Women’s Championship that starts tomorrow (Wednesday, 31 July) in Port Elizabeth.

The South Africans held their first training session at Westbourne Oval to get ready for their first match, which will be against Comoros.

The clash takes place at Wolfson Stadium, and kicks off at 15h30.

Banyana Banyana are in Group A alongside Comoros, Malawi and Madagascar.

Head coach Desiree Ellis says the team will have to play above themselves as every team in the tournament will want to wrestle the title away from them for three reasons: being hosts and defending champions, and also beause they have been to the World Cup.
