29 July 2019 – The South AfricanU20 Women’s National Team (Basetsana), have arrived in Port Elizabeth to prepare for the inaugural U20 COSAFA Championships, and will hold two training sessions today ahead of their opening encounter against Zimbabwe’s U20 on Thursday,1 August 2019.

Tournament Head Coach has emphasized that although they she has limited time to prepare the players for this prestigious regional tournament, her main focus is to get the best out of the players.

Dludlu, who led the South African U17 Women’s National Team to their second ever FIFA World Cup appearance last year believes that they can only build from their last tournament.

“We are here to give our best,” said Dludlu. We have put together a youthful but experienced team, and can only expect them to give their best performance for a group that last played together last year”.

Basetsana are in group A of the COSAFA U20 Championships and will take on Zimbabwe, Namibia and Mozambique on their quest to lift the maiden trophy.

Their first match will be played at Gelvandale Stadium at 14h00, on Thursday 1 August 2019.
