26 July 2019 – The South Africa CHAN squad arrived in Maseru, the capital of Lesotho ready to do battle with their counterparts in the Orange CAF CHAN second round, first leg qualifier at Setsoto Stadium on Sunday, 28 July 2019.
The match kicks off at 14h00 and the return leg is penciled for Dobsonville Stadium, Soweto next Sunday. That match will kick off at 15h00.
While coach David Notoane was forced to make changes to his original squad due to injuries and non-availability of players, the team looked in good condition and trained at the match venue upon arrival in Maseru.
Notoane and his assistant Kwanele Kopo put the players through a grueling afternoon training session and all the players looked in great shape. They players were full of running and worked together as if they have been together for a long time, something that put a smile on both Notoane and Kopo.
The CHAN team will have the final training session at the match venue (Setsoto Stadium) on Saturday before Notoane names his starting line-up for Sunday’s game.
The team will depart Maseru for Johannesburg on Monday where they will continue preparing for the second leg encounter.
The match will be played on the artificial pitch, reason why Notoane’s charges trained at Nike Centre before travelling to Lesotho.
