23 July 2019 – The North West leg of the Sasol League has just entered its second and final half of the season and runaway log leaders, De’ Scorpio look set to clinch the title should they maintain their form.

The log leaders are seven points clear of Royal Queens who are not far off and have two games in hand, something that could work in their advantage should they bag maximum points in their next fixtures.

With the SAFA National Women’s League fast approaching, the stakes have become even higher across all Sasol League streams as teams eye a place in what will be the highest tier of South African women’s football.

De’ Scorpio have made their promotional intentions clear and with 15 wins out of 17 with the other two outings ending in draws. As a result, the log leaders are yet to lose a match this season and looking at keeping this clean record this weekend when they travel to North West University on Saturday, 27 July.

In North West University, they face a side that is desperate for points and looking at moving away from the relegation battle. The University team nine out of their 12 fixtures and are yet to find that winning formation.

Second placed, Royal Queens face the unpredictable Bold and the Beautiful who have been blowing hot and cold this season. They do however occupy the seventh place on the table and very much capable of causing an upset this weekend.
