22 July 2019 – The CHAN team that will play Lesotho this coming Sunday, will assemble in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 24 July 2019 and will train at Nike Centre before departing for Maseru.

The team will leave for Lesotho on Friday and play their first leg on Sunday before returning home on Monday to begin preparations for the second leg.
The second leg will take place in Johannesburg the following Sunday.

Coach David Notoane has named a 23-man squad to play Lesotho in the CAF Orange CHAN qualifiers for the Ethiopia 2020 championships and it comprises mostly the u23 squad that will play Zimbabwe in the CAF African Olympic qualifiers in September.

Notoane has retained most of the players who took part in the recently ended Senior Men’s COSAFA Cup tournament that took place in Durban from 26 May to 8 June 2019 where South Africa won the Plate after beating Malawi 5-4 on penalties.

As per CHAN’s requirements, the tournament is only for local based players.
