19 July 2019 – The SAFA-Mangaung chairperson, Lucas Matobako, hailed the publishing of Dance Siwelele and Resilient Ntate Molemela as historic in restoration of football; honouring of the role players; and reflection of the general development of the sport.

Speaking at the launch of the books which was hosted by the Bloemfontein-based Central University of Technology (CUT) Free State, said: “Football history recording in South Africa is not getting deserving coverage. We welcome the initiative of the two books by author Molefi Mika and his co-researcher, Teboho, a local photojournalist. This is history because the two gentlemen did so out of their own pockets.”

The occasion was attended by among the others Victor Mahatanya whom in 1969 co-founded Bloemfontein Celtic together with the late Norman Mothobisa. The duo, later when the going got tough to run the club, passed it on to the heralded Petrus Molemela.

Dance Siwelele is about the rich history of Bloemfontein Celtic FC including the uniqueness of their staunch supporters, something that caught the attention of the FIFA hierarchy during the World Cup finals hosted by South Africa in 2010.

Resilient Ntate Molemela is a comprehensive and inspiring biography of the late Dr Petrus “Whitehead” Molemela, who managed Celtic for a period more than 20-years.

“The biography of the late Dr Molemela can certainly be used as a case study in the field of entrepreneurship to inspire the current and future generation for them to take leaf. They will be best informed about what it takes to be successful in the field of entrepreneurship,” said Professor Henk de Jager, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the CUT Free State.

De Jager said the university hosted the launch to support the good initiative by the author Mika and co-researcher Setena.

Sello Molemela, one of Molemela’s sons, in his vote of thanks speech expressed joy, saying that both books were a reflection of the reality about the role of his father in both football and entrepreneurship as well as their late mother, Mmamorwesi. “Both books reflect what we know about our parents, my father in football, especially the club Bloemfontein Celtic. Both books indeed keep his legacy alive,” said Sello.
