15 July 2019 – Sunflower Women’s Football Club are in cruise control in the KwaZulu-Natal Sasol Women’s League. The league favourites are living up to expectations in the first half of the season after registering their 12th straight win in as many matches this season.

The KwaZulu-Natal club which is famous for producing quality national team players for the various age groups.

With the SAFA National Women’s League set to get underway later this year, the log leaders have set themselves a target of qualifying for next season’s premier women’s league which promises to be highly competitive.

Sunflower have been anything but shy of scoring goals this season, finding the back of the net an impressive 78 times and only letting in five.

Westville United were on the receiving end of Sunflower’s relentless attack this past weekend as their were handed a 7-1 drubbing in their own backyard.

Up next for the log leaders will be UKZN PMB who are very much wary of the danger posed by the high scoring Sunflower.

UKZN, who have now dropped to 13th on the log were also in action this past weekend and will be looking to put their 2-0 defeat behind them when facing the log leaders.
