- Jill Ellis is the first coach to win 2 FIFA Women’s World Cup trophies
- Megan Rapinoe is the first player to score multiple goals in back to back knockouts matches

- Tobin Heath, Ali Krieger, Rapinoe, Alex Morgan and Carli Lloyd played their 3rd FIFA Women’s Women’s World Cup final, joining Germany Birgit Prinz on that mark
- Rapinoe eclipsed Lloyd as the oldest goal scorer in a final
A very special Birthday
- Alex Morgan became the 1st player to score a FIFA Women’s World Cup goal on her birthday – it was during the 2-1 win semifinal win over England
- She has now scored in 2 FIFA Women’s World Cup semifinals, equaling Bettina Wiegmann and Josephine Oqvist

Unbelievable comeback
- Argentina became the 1st team to recover a 3-goal deficit and take something from a FIFA Women’s World Cup match

- Azzurri midfielder Aurora Galli became the 2nd player to score 3 goals as a substitute (Lisa de Vanna also did it in 2007)
