19 June 2019 – Angola team management has cancelled the proposed practice match against Bafana Bafana which was scheduled for this afternoon (Wednesday, 19 June 2019) at Cairo’s Aero Sports Centre.
Despite the Angolan team management having a meeting with the Bafana Bafana technical team at the team hotel on Tuesday, 18 June 2019 in the afternoon in which all modalities were thrashed out regarding the rules of the practice match, their management phoned late last night to inform us that their coach was not interested in the practice match anymore as they ‘were struggling to get any training since arriving in Egypt.’
“We are disappointed and frustrated. We had arranged this match three weeks ago and Angola confirmed everything in writing. We even had a meeting with their technical staff at our hotel yesterday, (Tuesday, 18 June 2019) afternoon in which both teams reconfirmed the match and agreed on the rules of the practice game,” said a disappointed Bafana Bafana manager Barney Kujane.
