17 June 2019 – Banyana Banyana head coach Desiree Ellis has made four changes to the team that will face Germany in the third and final match of Group B of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The clash takes place this evening (Monday, 17 June) at Stade de la Mosson in Montpellier.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two nations.

Andile Dlamini, who missed the China encounter due to an injury, returns to goals in place of Kaylin Swart.

Left back Nothando Vilakazi is also back in the starting line-up after serving her one match suspension following the marching orders she received in the match against Spain. She comes in for Sibulele Holweni.

The rest of the defence has been left unchanged with Lebohang Ramalepe at right back, while captain Janine van Wyk will partner with Noko Matlou in the heart of defence.

In central midfield, Mamello Makhabane will play alongside Kholosa Biyana, supported by Refiloe Jane, Amanda Mthandi and Busisiwe Ndimeni.

Mthandi returns after being left on the bench in the last game, and takes the place of Thembi Kgatlana, with Ndimeni coming in for Bambanani Mbane.

Ode Fulutudilu will go in search of goals.

Only six players have made six starts in the tournament so far – Ramalepe, Van Wyk, Matlou, Biyana, Jane and Fulutudilu.

Germany has already qualified for the second round after two wins in a row, while Banyana Banyana are still in need of their first points in the tournament.

Kickoff for this clash is 18h00.
