12 June 2019 – The practice match between Bafana Bafana and the Black Stars of Ghana on 15 June 2019 has been moved to 17h30 here on Saturday afternoon.

The match was initially pencilled to take place at 15h00 but with the temperatures soaring to over 45 degrees at that time of the day, the two teams rescheduled to kick off time to 17h30 local time (15h30 SA time).

The heat, aggravated by high humidity has seen temperatures here rise to as high as 47-48 degrees Celcius, forcing most team camping here in preparation for AFCON tournament in Egypt to stay mostly indoors during the day and train later when temperatures drop a bit.

On Wednesday, 12 June 2019, Bafana Bafana assistant coach Molefi Ntseki met with the Ghanaian delegation and both parties agreed that it would be prudent to play the match when it is a bit cooler.

The two delegations also agreed that the match will now be a practice game to allow all players from both sides to have a run during the match as both teams finalise their preparations ahead of the Egypt showpiece.

The match between Bafana Bafana and Angola will be played at a venue between Cairo and Suez, where the two teams are based respectively.

South Africa open their campaign in AFCON against Ivory Coast on 24 June in Cairo and four days later take on Namibia, also in the Egyptian capital.

Their last game is against Morocco on 1 July 2019 in Cairo.
