11 June 2019 – Sunflower Women’s Football Club are on an impressive run and looking at reclaiming their number one status in KwaZulu-Natal women’s football. The club has established itself as strong title contenders with impressive performances in these early stages of the season.

After seven matches, the log leaders have only conceded four goals while finding the back of the net 35 times without single loss or draw.

Lindelani Ladies are the closest outfit to the log leaders and are also punching above their weight this season. They have played the same number of matches with just a single loss from six victories.

Ladies have done well in keeping a solid line of defense at the back with just three goals conceded and will be looking at building from that when they continue the title race this weekend against 13th placed UKZN PMB at home.

While it’s still early days, things aren’t looking good for Umlazi Arsenal. The club from Umlazi township languishes at the bottom of the log without a single point from seven matches.

Just above the Umlazi club is Last Action FC who’s last few matches have been far from impressive. Action are just a single point above Arsenal after losing six and drawing one.

The two sides meet this weekend in what should be an interesting tie with both sides looking at escaping the danger zone.
