11 June 2019 – Bafana Bafana will play Angola on 19 June as part of their final preparations before taking to Ivory Coast on 24 June to kick start their Group D matches.

The Angola match was confirmed this past weekend by both FAs and will be played at a venue between Suez and Cairo where Angola and South Africa will be based respectively.

Both Angola and South Africa agreed that the match will be more of a practice game as the two teams want to give almost all of their players a run during the game.

The Bafana Bafana v Angola practice game comes four days after Bafana Bafana meet the Black Stars of Ghana in an international friendly in Dubai on Saturday, 15 June.

The team will then leave Dubai for Egypt on Monday, 17 June where final preparations will get underway.

Most of Bafana Bafana support staff left South Africa on Monday evening but the rest of the team flew to Dubai this morning, (Tuesday, 11 June 2019.)

The whole team was supposed to fly out on Monday at 19h10. However, upon arrival at the airport the Airways insisted on flying the team in two separate batches – one at 19h10 and the other at 10h00. Coach Stuart Baxter then suggested flying out on Tuesday so that the team could fly in the same flight.

The team will go straight to training in the humid Dubai heat which is hovering around 40 degrees Celcius.

After the Ivory Coast game, Bafana Bafana meet neighbours Namibia on 28 June and round off their group game with a match against the Atlas Lions of Morocco on 1 July.
