10 June 2019 – PSL club Chippa United FC are the first MYSAFA Club Pro subscriber. The top-flight side are already well underway registering their development/MDC team with FIFA via MYSAFA’s integration with FIFA Connect ID.

“We absolutely see the benefits of MYSAFA Club Pro,” said Glen Minnie, head of football development at the PE-based club. “In the past we had reserve team players essentially stolen by other clubs and we had great difficulty proving they had been training with us. If we didn’t believe that our players had potential to player professionally — even internationally — they would not be in our system. So we definitely see MYSAFA as a means to protect our investment in young players.”

FIFA now requires member associations to provide electronic player registration systems and integrate them with the FIFA Transfer Matching System and solidarity payment clearing house. MYSAFA is the only FIFA-integrated system in South Africa and to date has registered more amateur players than any other system of its kind in Africa.

“Secondly, more and more tournaments are requiring MYSAFA cards to participate — even those outside the SAFA structures,” the Chippa coach continued. “Our MDC side now holds MYSAFA cards that they will use for the Engen Knockout and any other tournaments.”
