24 MAY 2019 – Captain of the Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana, Janine van Wyk, has mixed emotions about the upcoming 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup set for France next month.

The South African defender was speaking shortly the arrival of the squad in the country on Friday to continue preparations for the tournament, starting with an international friendly against Norway in the French city of Amiens on Sunday, 2 June 2019.

This will be the final match before the start of the women’s world soccer showpiece.

Van Wyk says the players are in a good mood but also nervous with the mission ahead – at the same time they are excited that the dream is becoming a reality.
