24 May 2019 – Banyana Banyana have arrived in France for the historic FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 buzzing with confidence.

The Senior Women’s National Team touched down in the French capital of Paris on Friday morning with SAFA’s Head of Delegation, Ms Emma Hendricks saying everyone was in great spirits.

The team left OR Tambo International Airport around 18h00 on Thursday and landed in France early Friday.

“We have arrived well though a bit fatigued but everyone is in high spirits,” said Hendricks.

Banyana Banyana will play one friendly match against Norway in Amiens on 2 June before kicking off their maiden FIFA World Cup campaign with a match against Spain on 8 June 2019.

They then travel to Paris for a date with China before rounding off their group stage matches with a match against Germany in Montpellier.

Before their departure, SAFA President spelt out the bonuses structure of the team which he said was almost at par with that of the Men’s Senior National Team, Bafana Bafana.
