22 May 2019 — South Africa’s National Under-20 (Amajita) head coach Thabo Senong  reunited with his national juniors on Wednesday afternoon in Katowice, Poland after spending some time off in South Africa due to family commitments.

SAFA NEC member and Amajita’s Head of Delegation for this year’s FIFA Under-20 World Cup tournament, Jack Maluleke, said he was pleased that the coach returned to Poland for the upcoming World Cup in perfect health.

Maluleke also added that Senong would resume with his coaching responsibilities with immediate effect, starting off with Amajita’s training session at the FIFA’s official training grounds in Katowice tonight.

That training session will kick-off at 20h30.

“Coach Thabo’s absence was deeply felt when he flew back to South Africa to deal with a private family matter,” Maluleke said. “We are now happy that he is back and ready to resume his role as our national Under-20’s Head coach.

“The boys were really happy to see him as well, given the warm reception they gave upon his arrival. He resumes his coaching role starting off with tonight’s training session.”

Amajita will kick-off their 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup Group F campaign against Argentina on 25 May, before they take on Korea Republic and Portugal in their remaining group fixtures.

Their first World Cup match will take place at  Tychy Stadium. Kick-off is at 20h30.
