20 May 2019 – Just three matches have been played in two streams of the Northern Cape Sasol Women’s League and things are off to a great start for R.C Mills in stream A as well as Royal Wizards from the second steam.
Due to its vast size, the province has divided its stream into two to reduce the amount of travelling for the clubs, resulting in better quality of football on the pitch by the ladies.
R.C Mills have made their intentions of clinching the title quite clear in these early stages of the season with three consecutive victories in as many matches. In all matches, Mills have found the back of the net an impressive 19 times this season while conceding six.
Just behind Mills is Black Spurs who are just a point behind them and have also played a game extra than their counterparts. Spurs were in action this past weekend and were held to a tough 1-1 draw by a stubborn Pako Ladies FC.
Royal Wizards in the meantime are in a goal scoring mood while keeping things neat and tidy at the back in stream B. Wizards are yet to concede while finding the back of the net an impressive 29 times.
While it may still be early stages of the season, the Northern Cape Sasol League promises to be a highly entertaining season. More of this past weekend’s Sasol League action results and updated log tables can be viewed on MYSAFA.net.
