17 May 2019 – The Western Cape Sasol League is in full swing with Spurs WFC and UCT leading the pack in the race to be crowned champions of the Western Cape. Just five matches have been played since the start of the season with the two clubs registering maximum points in all their fixtures.

RV United are also amongst the clubs who have started well this season having registered four wins out of five with just an unfortunate loss against the log leaders.

Burnley United will be fighting relegation come the end of the season should they not improve their performance. From the five matches played, United are yet to collect a single point and find themselves rooted at the bottom of the log table.

Ikamva United and Maties FC are also amongst the slow starters of the season having drawn two and lost three of their five fixtures.

Cape Town Roses, who are ranked as one of the title favourites have had wobbly start to their campaign. Roses suffered successive defeats in their first three matches but showed character in their recent two fixtures with a 4-2 victory over Noca Nacional FC as well as a hard fought 3-2 victory over Maties FC.

The action continues in the Western Cape this weekend with more exciting fixtures to look out for.
