10 May 2019 – Samba Girls aim to maintain their promising start to the 2019 Limpopo Sasol League when they play Tshandama Young Stars on Saturday, 11 May, in the Vhembe derby.

Samba kicked off their 2019 campaign impressively under Baldwin Muhovha and his technical team. The Nzhelele-based outfit who are in their second season in the Sasol League thumped Botlokwa Ladies 4-2 at home in the opening weekend.

Samba had a forgetful debut campaign in 2018, winning only one game throughout the season and finished 15th on the table, surviving relegation through the help of lady luck.

Samba Girls defender, Tendani Muhovha, is confident that the team will maintain impressive start in their game against Tshandama Young Stars at the Tshandama Ground tomorrow.

“The girls have been working hard at training in preparation of tomorrow’s game against Tshandama. We are all looking forward to the game. We know that it won’t be easy, but we are looking for three points. We learnt a lot from last season’s experience of fighting against relegation. We aim to collect points as soon as possible this season to avoid what happened last time. The coach is making sure that we take everything seriously,” said Muhovha.

Tshandama Young Stars were trounced 6-0 away to Chippas Ladies FCon the opening day of the season.
