8 May 2019 – Tournament Head Coach Sheryl Botes has named her starting eleven to face Vietnam in the second match of the Chinese U-19 International Women’s Tournament currently underway in Xiamen, China.

Basetsana will face the Vietnamese U-19 team at Haicang Sport Centre Stadium at 15h00 local time (SA time 09h00), after losing 3-0 to Thailand in their opening match two days ago.

Kaydee Windvogel who has come down with the flu will be replaced by Leigh Brophy in the goalposts.

Tyler-Bree Joss and Noxolo Cesane will play at left and right back respectively while; Sarah Walker and Captain Morongwa Manamela will play at centre back.

The midfield will be anchored by Jessica Wade and Oratile Mokwena who comes in for Kaylyn Jordaan.

Sinoxolo Cesane will continue playing on the left flank, while Anna Queen Mokgatha will replace Nicole Michael at right wing.

Christy Noble will play as the supporting striker to Chelsea Daniels upfront.

“We are looking forward to our first ever encounter with an Asian opponent,” said Botes.

“We are in this tournament to gain as much experience as possible as we prepare for our future tournaments in Africa.

Although the weather is not great we want the players to go out express themselves, enjoy the match and most importantly learn a few things from the different style of play,” concluded Botes.

South Africa face hosts China on 10 May 2019, in their last 4 Nations match.
