2 May 2019 – Buya Msuthu are determined to retain their status as champions of the North West ABC Motsepe League and with just three rounds of matches remaining, Msuthu are wrestling their title defense with second and third placed, Young Zebras and Casric FC.

All three sides are tied on 65 points and just separated by goal difference as the season draws to its conclusion.

The log leaders allowed their opposition to catch up when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Master Peace away from home. The result played in favour of Young Zebras and Casric FC as both sides registered victories in their respective fixtures.

Casric cruised to a comfortable 3-0 away win over Marauding Classic FC while Young Zebras had to dig deep against a highly spirited North West University for a 1-0 victory.

Looking at the fixtures for this coming weekend, the log leaders have a tough assignment against the wounded North West University who will be hoping to get a good result against their more fancied opponents.

Casric have what may look like an easy fixture against bottom placed Moretele Gunners who have only managed five wins from 27 matches this season. However, Gunners are fighting with everything in their arsenal to survive the dreaded relegation chop with just a point separating them from Phatsima All Stars who play second placed Young Zebras.

With the National Play Offs set for July this year, a place in the National First Division is up for grabs for the two finalists. Msuthu, who have narrowly missed out on the ultimate prize will be hoping that they go all the way should they clinch the title but with three rounds to play, anything is possible.
