2 May 2019 – South African National Under-20 winger Leo Thethani is upbeat about Amajita’s chances of making it into the knockout stages of the world youth tournament in Group F, which has been touted as the Group of Death.

The Group consists of established powerhouses Argentina, Portugal and Korea Republic.

Thethani admitted that although Group F is tricky, he said South Africa’s Amajita had a fair chance to emerge as one of the two teams from this group to advance to the knock out stage.

The Ajax Amsterdam player said he is working hard in the provisional squad so that he can make the cut for the 21-man squad for the world youth event.

The Holland-based star said based on the team spirit and the unity among the players in the camp, the team has what it takes to make a lasting impression.

Thethani said although he is currently playing in the Ajax Amsterdam Reserve team, a good showing at the FIFA World Cup would propel his career to the next level.
