16 April 2019 – With four rounds of matches played so far, the North West leg of the Sasol Women’s is in full swing with clubs vying for top honours. The North West kicked off their season two weeks ago with De’ Scorpio already setting the pace with four consecutive wins, conceding just once in all four fixtures.
Royal Queens have also started the season like a house on fire with three wins from as many matches which sees them second on the table while Clive United have the same number of wins with a slightly less goal difference.
While there won’t be any action this weekend due to the Easter holiday, all most clubs will be using the break to sharpen their tools with the action set to resume on 27 April.
The log leaders will have a stronger challenge when they come back from the break when they face third placed, Clive United in a top of the table clash.
Royal Queens have a tough outing to face North West University who are yet to register a victory following their two losses and a draw. The University side occupies 11th position and are looking at climbing out of the danger zone as early as possible.
Florentia FC, who have conceded a disappointing 22 goals in just two matches will need to immediately pull up their socks should they want to remain in the Sasol League next season.
Just above them is ALS PUK Tawana FC, Kraaipan Ladies, We Can Ladies FC and who are also yet to collect a points in these early stages of the season. Meanwhile, Stilfontein Real Hearts will officially kick off their season against Platinum Arsenal when the season resumes next week.
