27 March 2019 – With less than a month to go before the 2019 FIFA eNations Cup in London, the South African duo of Thabo Moloi and Ryan Bastos, who will be representing the country are gearing up for what promises to be a great spectacle of Gaming in the UK.

The duo successfully booked their place to the two-day competition after seeing off stiff competition against some of the country’s best gamers in the South African online qualifiers this past weekend. They will now have their fair chance of competing against the world’s best gamers next month when they contest for a staggering $100 000 prize money between 13 and 14 April in London.

Speaking to SAFA.net ahead of the inaugural edition of the tournament, 17-year-old Thabo Moloi who forms part of the South Africa duo said he was looking forward to playing against the world’s best and representing his country on such an important platform.

“Competing internationally has always been my dream and I am quite excited that it will be fulfilled in the next few weeks. I think we stand a very good chance of doing well in the competition, but we obviously need to continue working hard in our preparations. Partnering with Ryan will also be great because we have been playing together for quite some time and he is a very close friend of mine” said the 17-year-old gamer who hails from Johannesburg.

Moloi, who is also an avid footballer says he also enjoys playing “real football” whenever he can but Gaming stands top of his list at the moment and also believed that the passion, he and his partner have for the game would be a triumph card for them in London.

While this will be the very first time, Moloi heads to an international tournament, the youngster had qualified for an international tournament in Holland last year but missed out on the opportunity after failing to secure a VISA on time.

Team SA were drawn in Group A of the four-group tournament where they will be up against hosts, England, Finland, France and Saudi Arabia.

As part of the format of the first-ever FIFA eNations Cup, participating nations and players will compete in individual (1v1) and team (2v2) matches across both consoles during the group stage with the top two nations in each of the four groups progressing through to the knockout stages.
