15 March 2019 – Berachah Valley and Mikhado played to a one-all-draw on Wednesday, 13 March, at Mafefe Sports Complex during a Limpopo ABC Motsepe League game between the two teams which are vying for a place in the upcoming national promotional playoffs.

The visitors, Mikhado are holding a record of being the only team in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League which is yet to lose a game this year. Abel Makhubela’s men are undefeated in 12 games since their 1-0 defeat against The Dolphins back in December 2018.

Mikhado were the tenth visitor to visit Mafefe Sports Complex this season to face Berachah Valley and they were also the tenth visitor who failed to walk away with all three points.

Berachah Valley, alongside league leaders Madritas, are the only teams this season who are yet to suffer a defeat at their home ground.

Charles Kampi converted a penalty kick in the second half to get Berachah back on level terms after Ndamulelo Mugadi put the visitors ahead with a beautiful header.

Ndamulelo Mugadi, arguably the shortest player on the pitch, was on the receiving end of Thabang Bapela’s well-delivered cross from the right wing and midfielder kept his calm in nodding home.

Mikhado struggled to build on their momentum after the break, and the hosts levelled the scores four minutes in the second half.

Charles Kampi stepped up to take a penalty after Vincent Mbatha was bought down inside the box and kept his cool head to beat the veteran goalkeeper Amon Phophi.

The game was delayed for a few minutes in the second half when Berachah’s keeper was rushed to hospital after sustaining a head injury following a knock by the substitute Vutomi Ngomana. The club released a statement via its official social media accounts stating the player has been resuscitated and doing well.

With Madridtas comfortably beating Pusela City 3-0 away from home, Berachah and Mikhado fell six and nine points behind the runaway league leaders who have opened a five-point gap at the top.

Next up for Berachah is yet another visitor at the Mafefe Sports Complex on Saturday, 16 March. They will host Ndengeza who are enduring a tough season so far. Mikhado will make a trip back to the Capricorn District to square off with Ollesdas at Ga-Manamela on the same day.
