11 March 2019 – JDR Stars’ Gauteng ABC Motsepe League title hopes hit a speed bump over the weekend after playing out to a 1-1 stalemate against Pele Pele. The Pretoria based side are now two points behind log leaders Baberwa who came back from behind to snatch a 2-1 victory over XI Experience.
Stars’ draw sees them drop to third after Dondol Stars marched to a 2-0 win over African All Stars to register their 15th win of the season, equal to Baberwa.
With only six rounds of matches remaining in the season, there is very little room for error with all points on offer being crucial for the top three.
Dondol Stars will be looking at continuing in their winning ways when they welcome Soweto’s Dube Continental FC who collected maximum points at home with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Pretoria Callies.
Stars have a must win match against Alexandra Black Aces who are still licking their wounds following a disappointing 2-1 loss to FC Ma-Lions who moved out of the relegation battle by a just a point following their win.
The log leaders, Baberwa have a very tricky encounter against the relegation threatened FC Ma-Lions away from home which will be quite an interesting tie to look out for.
