5 March 2019 – Banyana Banyana midfielder Thembi Kgatlana has become the latest player to reach a half century of matches for her country when she came on in the second half of the 2-1 loss to the Czech Republic in Cyprus Women’s Cup on Monday, 4 March 2019.

The milestone come shortly on the heels of vice captain Refiloe Jane also clocking 100 appearances for South Africa.

Kgatlana is the reigning CAF Woman Player of the Year 2018, and was crowned the Most Valuable Player in the Cyprus Cup last year.
