5 March 2019 – SAFA Gauteng Cup in partnership with GSI and Gauteng Provincial Government will be hosting the draw for Gauteng Cup 2019 on 7 March at SAFA House at 11h00.

Gauteng Cup is one of the Future Champion programmes that has been playing in Gauteng Province for the past 10 years, initially involving only under 17 boys. It was only in 2018 that the tournament started to include girls.

The 2019 draw will see the six Gauteng PSL development teams, five SAFA Gauteng Regional squads, four top schools from the Schools Cup and one Gauteng NFD development side being pitted against each other in the U17 boys age group.

The teams will be divided into four groups of four teams each and will be played on a round robin basis. One top team in each group will proceed to the semi-finals.

In the girls stream, there will be six teams comprising of five Gauteng Regional squads and the winner of the Schools Cup.

The teams will be divided into two groups of three teams each which will also play a round robin format in which the winner of each group will compete in the final.

The Gauteng Cup will take place on the 16 and 17 March 2019 in Reiger Park ‘s WJ Clemments Stadium, Ekurhuleni.
