20 February 2019 – With just 10 rounds of fixtures left in the Free State ABC Motsepe League, Mangaung Unite are well on course to a league title should they maintain their impressive form.

The log leaders, who lead second placed Harmony FC by 11 points are yet to lose a match and looking at clinching the title without a defeat, something that would be a record for the Free State ABC Motsepe League.

The title contenders almost surrendered their undefeated streak over the weekend when a resilient BFN Young Tigers held them to a tough 0-0 draw at home.

Mathematically, Harmony FC are still in line for a league title but this would require a miracle slip up from the log leaders. Harmony comfortably cruised past Small Tigers with a 2-0 victory.

Super Eagles FC, who reached the play off stages and got promotion to the National First Division will be hoping for a better performance next season. The former Free State champions registered their eighth win this weekend with a 4-2 away win over Knowledge Glen FC.

Looking down in the relegation battle, Dla2 FC are not giving up on their fight to remain in the ABC Motsepe League next season after they fought hard for a 2-1 win over Central University FS.

The good news for Dla2 would be the 2-1 loss of Dikwena FC suffered at the hands of Days FC which will make the relegation battle even more interesting towards the end of the season.
