8 February 2019 – The ongoing battle for promotion to the National First Division continues across the country this weekend in the SAFA ABC Motsepe League.

Starting in the Eastern Cape, Tornado FC have a stern test against the third placed PE Stars who are also challenging for the top spot.

Mangaung Unite are well on course to clinching the Free State title with their current 12-point gap at the top. They do however face a tricky encounter with third placed Sibanye Golden Stars who will be looking at collecting maximum points at home.

Baberwa in the Gauteng leg are currently five points and should have a comfortable outing this weekend when they face ninth placed African All Stars.  Baberwa have had a fantastic season so far with just a single loss from 19 matches.

KwaZulu-Natal log leaders, Summerfield Dynms are at home to Edenvale Juventus and will be targeting all three points while Limpopo log leaders, Madridtas will be hoping to overcome their disappointing 2-2 draw against Mikhado last week when they welcome Magesi FC.

Looking at Mpumalanga, Acornbush have successfully carried the favourites title with a five-point lead at the top. They face Somhlolo United away from home this weekend.

Things are a bit slow in the North West with less than half of the games played but Buya Msuthu currently lead the pack and well on course to defending their title with a eight-point lead.

In the Northern Cape, Tornado FC and NC Liverpool respectively lead the province’s A and B streams.

Finally, the Western Cape is currently led by Steenberg United who should easily cruise past bottom placed Mbekweni Cosmos.
