19 January 2019 – Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana lost 1-2 to the Netherlands in the inaugural Winnie Mandela International  Challenge on Saturday, 19 January 2019.

The clash took place in Cape Town and was used by both sides to start preparations for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be played in France in June.

This is the second time the Netherlands qualify for the tournament, while Banyana Banyana are going to their maiden competition.
