15 January 2019 – Clubs in the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League resumed their season campaign this past weekend with some exciting fixtures taking place in the province. While the log leaders, Acornbush FC were not in action, they still maintain their lead at the top by a slender point from Witbank Citylads.
Lads had a scare at home against a resilient Bakone FC but were fortunate to walk away with a slim 1-0 win while Somhlolo United and Tjakastaad Junior Sheppards enjoyed victory with the same scoreline against FC Zone Mavo and FC Benfica respectively.
Bushbuckridge Bohlabela United could not break the stubborn Barbeton City Stars FC defense who held them to an evenly balanced 0-0 stalemate.
Another team that could not make use of their home ground advantage was Secunda M Stars FC who suffered a shock 2-0 defeat to the visiting Gembok Classic FC.
Nkomazi Real Aces moves slightly up the relegation battle with a 2-1 victory over Lumoja FC and will be hoping to carry on from where they left off in their next fixtures as they aim to survive the dreaded dagger.
