3 December 2018 – JDR Stars moved to the top of the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League for the first time this season after their hard-fought 1-0 win over Leruma United this past weekend.
JDR have been occupying second spot behind Baberwa who dropped points at home against Swallows FC in a dramatic 2-1 defeat against the Soweto side.
Baberwa were not in action this past weekend and will be hoping to reclaim their number one position when they welcome Alexandra United this weekend. The title chasers won’t have it easy against United who narrowly lost their recent match 1-0 against Dondol.
Following their confidence boosting victory, Swallows face a tricky encounter against the wounded Leruma who will be hoping to put their defeat against JDR behind them and move up the ladder.
However, this week’s Gauteng ABC Motsepe League action gets underway as early as tomorrow, 4 December when Vaal Professionals welcome the much improved Dube Continental.
The other Tuesday fixture will see African All Stars take on Alexandra United. The Alexandra based side suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Dondol Stars and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways on Tuesday.
