22 November 2018 – Following two consecutive wins in their group match, Banyana Banyana are just a few matches away from securing a place in next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The reigning COSAFA Cup champions edged AFCON defending champions, Nigeria 1-0 in their opening match before putting Equatorial Guinea to the sword with a 7-1 victory.

The result sees the Sasol-sponsored side needing just a point to secure a place in the next round of the competition where a third-place finish will be enough for the Desiree Ellis led side to secure a World Cup berth.
