20 November 2018 – Assistant Referee, Zakhele Siwela has been invited by FIFA to run a fitness test on 20 November 2018, building up to this year’s FIFA Club World Cup set to take in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The fitness test will take place at Germiston Stadium today, 20 November, where Siwela will be assessed on whether he is fit enough to form part of a referee’s panel to travel to the FIFA Club World Cup scheduled to take place from 12 – 22 December 2018.

These news follow after Siwela had served as an assistant referee in two recent African Cup of Nations qualifier matches (Egypt vs Tunisia & Ethiopia vs Ghana) alongside fellow South Africans in Victor Gomes, Johannes Moshidi and Victor Hlungwani.

Siwela, who also served as an assistant referee in this year’s FIFA World Cup in Russia, is the only South African to have been invited by FIFA to run this year’s FIFA Club World Cup fitness test.
