2 November 2018 — SAFA’s Referees Fitness Instructor, Derek Hanson has been assigned by CAF to serve as a referee assessor in an Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifier clash between Mauritius and Kenya on 18 November 2018.

Hason’s assignment comes after CAF’s recent decision to use referee fitness instructors of national football associations of African countries, to help monitor and assess fitness levels of match officials in game situations.

In this first round, first leg tie, Hanson will be monitoring individual performances of the assigned referee Andofetra Rakotojaona, Lionel Adrianantenaina (assistant referee), Randrianarivelo Harizo (assistant referee) and Ben Ibrahim (fourth official); and how they work together as a team.

All of the mentioned four officials are from Madagascar.

The match will take place at Anjalay Stadium in Belle Vue Maurel, Mauritius.
