1 November 2018 – Referee Victor Gomes has received yet another CAF assignment, this time to officiate in an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier match between Ethiopia and Ghana set to take place on 18 November 2018 in Addis Ababa.

The reigning PSL Referee of the Season will be assisted by fellow South Africans in 2018 FIFA World Cup official Zakhele Siwela and Johannes Moshidi who will be his two assistants while Victor Hlungwani will serve as his fourth official.

The match will take place in Addis Ababa’s National Stadium at 16h00. This is a highly charged encounter in which both sides are expected to go all out and try secure maximum points as AFCON qualifiers draw to a close.

Ethiopia are second in Group F with four points after four matches while Ghana trail behind them with a point.

SAFA head of referees, Tenda Masikhwa said Gomes and his company had proved this year that the country remains the beacon of the continent when it comes to having competent  and officials of high international standards.
