29 October 2018 – Bloemfontein Celtic defended their Free State Sasol League in style with an emphatic 3-0 win over Simunye Ladies to make it 27 wins out of 30 fixtures. Celtic have successfully stamped their authority in Free State women’s football over the years and proved once again that there are worthy Queens of Free State football.

Throughout the season the champions only lost twice against Ace Milan who finished fifth and CUT Ladies who did well to finish third on the table.

Credit must go to Tsunami Queens who pushed Celtic all the way this season. Tsunami won 24 of their 20 fixtures, losing four times and drawing just twice to finish second on 74 points.

Kovsies FC also showed great improvement from last season with a sixth-place finish. The youthful Kovsies led by SAB U21 Championship winning coach, Godfrey Tenoff won 16 out of their 30 encounters but dropped a huge number of points in their 12 losses.

It is back to the drawing board and serious introspection for A to Z Gunners as they get relegated from the Sasol League. Gunners failed to collect a single point from all their matches, losing all 30, conceding more than 200 goals and only finding the back of the net five times.
