23 October 2018 – The Gauteng ABC Motsepe League season entered Week 7 this past weekend with draws in nearly all matches played.

Alexandra United and Pele Pele emerged as the only two sides that recorded wins with victories over Alexandra Black Aces FC and Xl Experience FC respectively on Saturday, 20 October.

Newly-promoted Pele Pele continued with their adaption to life in the ABC Motsepe League with a 2-1 victory over fellow new-comers XI Experience which came on the back of a 2-0 win over Pretoria Callies.

Log leaders, Alexandra United welcomed crosstown rivals Alexandra Black Aces at Hattingh Park on Saturday, 24 hours after second-placed Baberwa FC were held to a 1-1 draw by M.Tigers FC.

Alexandra United took full advantage of Baberwa’s setback and thumped Black Aces 4-0 to go four points clear at the top of the Gauteng table with 19 points out of a possible 21.

Leruma United and Callies responded to their mid-week defeats by collecting a point each on Saturday with 1-1 and 0-0 draws against African All Stars and Dondol Stars respectively. The results were enough for Leruma to put to an end an unwanted streak of three consecutive losses.

The two games played on Sunday, 21 October, produced goalless draws. The two home sides, Tembisa Sports Centre and rock-bottom FC Ma-Lions managed to walk-away with surprising points each in their respective fixtures against JDR Stars and Swallows FC.
