22 October 2018 – Week six of the Free State ABC Motsepe League produced some interesting results this past weekend as the battle for National First Division promotion continues in the Free State province.

Harmony FC maintained their unbeaten run in the campaign with a comfortable 2-0 win over Mphatlalatsane United at home on Saturday, 21 October. The result sees the log leaders remain at the summit of the table with two points separating them from Mangaung Unite who dropped two valuable points this weekend when they were held to a 0-0 stalemate by Kovsies FC.

Central University of FS registered a confidence boosting victory away from home when they overcame thirteenth-placed Days FC with a 2-0 victory. This is the University’s second win of the season having lost three and drawn one.

A resilient Dikwena United refused to bow down to the star-studded Bloemfontein Celtic when they held their more fancied opponents to a tough 1-1 draw while Small Tigers maintained their impressive form with a positive result away from as they overcame Free State Stars with a 2-1 victory.

Former Free State champions, Super Eagles who tasted NFD football after being guided the the country’s second division by Tshegofatso Mashego last season registered their third win of the season as they got their tactics spot on with a 3-1 victory over bottom-placed Dla2 FC.

More Free State ABC Motsepe football action is expected this weekend with a lot more unexpected turns on the cards as the race to the top continues in the Free State.
