17 October 2018 The South African Women’s U17 National Team (Bantwana) have reported for their final local camp with 28 days to go before the highly anticipated 2018 FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup in Uruguay from 13 November 2018 – 1 December 2018.

Head Coach Simphiwe Dludlu has called up 26 players and is in high spirits at the prospect of participating in the world showpiece.

“It has been a long wait since the draw and preparations for the World Cup, but we are slowly getting closer to kick off.

All the girls have arrived for our final camp and although it will be a tough two weeks of training we are looking forward to seeing the girls raise their hands for the final spots in the team.

Unfortunately the rules are clear, only 21 players can travel to the World Cup, and although we have many talented and hungry players in the squad, space is limited.

We will be going through the most in these last two weeks ahead of our departure, and it is up to the players to earn their spot in the team, by giving their all in each and every training session”; said Dludlu.

Bantwana will hold daily training sessions, have a few training matches and do a lot of team analysis in the final local preparations before jetting off to Uruguay next Saturday, 27 October 2018; to continue with the camp before the tournament kickoff of 13 November 2018.
