16 October 2018 – Bafana Bafana were left frustrated in Seychelles capital of Victoria as a dodged hosts defence held on to a famous point on Tuesday afternoon.

Having lost 6-0 on Saturday, Seychelles defended in numbers as the visitors paid the price for poor finishing and some indecisiveness inside the box.

South Africa will rue Lebo Mothiba’s miss minutes into the second half when he crushed his shot against the upright.  Moments later, he again shot straight at the keeper from a good position to underscore a poor return on the day.

Played in humid conditions, the visitors earned the first corner in the second minute but Maboe kick was poorly executed. The first half chance fell to Dino Ndlovu but his cut in header on the 10th minute was cleared away by Seychelles defence.

Midway through the first half, Bafana Bafana started to turn on the heat forcing several corners, but dodged defence coupled with some good fortune, kept the scoreline goalless.

In the 32nd minute, Ndlovu’s snap shot almost caught the hosts keeper off guard but the home team survived.

Khune then made a huge save on the 45th minute as Seychelles made a rare attack and almost scored with their very serious attack.

Mothiba then made a big miss in the opening minutes of the second half when his attempt hit the upright when it looked easier to score than miss. He followed up with another tame shot moments later as, again South Africa started in ferocious fashion.

Maboe then came off for Aubrey Modiba as Baxter sought to add some bite upfront. Modiba then shot wide from inside the box as Bafana’s frustrations continued to grow.

Khune then came off his line as Seychelles threatened again.

Bafana Bafana will feel these are two points lost than gaining a point which took them to eight points
