15 October 2018– Midfielder Lebogang Maboe who had a blinder in his first senior national team outing on Saturday, said Bafana Bafana fans must expect more of such performances going forward.

Maboe created two chances on Saturday and was one of the outstanding players in Bafana Bafana’s 6-0 rout of Seychelles and he said he has a feeling the entire squad will replicate the same feat  on Tuesday afternoon.

“I am relishing the prospect of facing the same team on Tuesday and try to do even better than my performance on Saturday. We should win on Tuesday if we put the same performance as the one we put on Saturday,” said Maboe who weighed in with two brilliant assists in the 6 goals trouncing of the opposition.

The Hedelberg born player said the secret of his encouraging performance was the fact that he was able to express himself without any due pressure.

“I was satisfied with my performance because I thought I gave it my best. I didn’t preserve any energy and expressed myself freely on the pitch. I also played according to instructions and within the team structure and everything fell into place,” he said with a smile.

Maboe who moved from Maritzburg United to Sundowns at the beginning of the current season has been having a good season with the league champions but said the secret is to continue working hard.

He said on Saturday the coaches and senior players told him to play his normal game as he has been doing all season.

“They told me never to try anything spectacular but play my normal game,” he said adding his immediate plans are cementing his position both within Downs and national team.

The Bafana Bafana/Seychelles match will be played at Linte Stadium in the capital Victoria and kicks off at 15h30 SA time.

Both Bafana Bafana and Seychelles touched down at Seychelles International Airport on Sunday evening and both will have one training session at the match venue on Monday evening.

With soaring temperatures hovering around 40 degrees Celsius, coach Baxter is encouraging his charges to preserve as much energy as possible having flew for 5 hours to this Indian Ocean Island on Sunday afternoon and arriving in the evening.
