9 October 2018 – Captain of the Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana, Janine van Wyk has urged her teammates to show the fighting spirit they displayed against Chile in the first clash on Saturday, 6 October when they were down to 10 players.
The South Africans lost 2-1, and despite the disappointing result, Van Wyk was impressed with the performance. Banyana Banyana and Chile face off tonight (22h00; local time – 03h00 Wednesday, 10 October South African time) at Estadio Santa Laura in Santiago, Chile. The squad returns home on Thursday, 11 October.
